World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk has his sights set on the next generation of WWE talent. In an interview with Complex, Punk called the current NXT roster an “embarrassment of riches” and specifically named Carmelo Hayes, Trick Williams, and Oba Femi as opponents he wants to face before he retires. “I’m gonna run out of road before I wind up having chances to work with all these guys,” he admitted.
Punk also offered high praise for Lexis King, drawing parallels to his own career. “A guy like Lexus King is viewed more like me back in the day where like they look at him and like they’re like, ‘Okay, you know, I don’t know if I get it.’ So, he has to work that much harder,” Punk said.
