Cover Star Reveals Dream Matches and Gameplay Details
The first official details for WWE 2K26‘s Showcase Mode have been released, centering on this year’s cover star, CM Punk. Narrated by the “Best in the World” himself, the mode will chronicle his career through iconic matches and “what if” scenarios. Confirmed bouts include his battles with John Cena, Brock Lesnar, and a dream match against “Stone Cold” Steve Austin.
Notably, the showcase will feature a “Dream Match” category, allowing players to experience fantasy bookings like Punk vs. Eddie Guerrero and a mixed tag team match teaming Punk with his wife AJ Lee against The Miz and Maryse. The mode begins with the WrestleMania 41 triple threat against Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns.
Punk also unveiled a new “Gauntlet Mode,” designed for players who want to unlock rewards without playing through the entire showcase story. By defeating 20 consecutive opponents with either Punk or AJ Lee, players can instantly unlock all showcase content. The game releases on March 13, 2026.
