According to Fightful Select, the injury was not initially believed to be a tear, but Escobar competed at AAA Rey de Reyes over the weekend and aggravated it, resulting in a confirmed tricep tear. Surgery is scheduled for Thursday. One AAA talent described his performance at the event as “lethargic,” which can now be understood in the context of him working hurt.

A report circulated this past weekend claiming Escobar had been “quietly moved” to the alumni section of WWE.com, but that is not accurate. Escobar has been listed in the alumni section since his WWE contract briefly expired in October — he re-signed just days later but was never moved back to the active roster page.
