Jeff Jarrett said Cody Rhodes is a natural babyface in the same way his father was, and that WWE has a lot to weigh before turning him.
Rhodes faced Randy Orton in Atlanta at Sunday Night’s Main Event in a match that left Orton bleeding and ended with an RKO after a low blow.
“Cody gave Randy everything he could handle. Multiple finishes, juice, beat the s— out of him over and over and over, and Randy ekes out the win. So where are they going with this?” Jarrett said on My World with Jeff Jarrett.
Jarrett said the character question comes down to what Rhodes is built to be.
“I think he is a natural, just like his father. I think some talent just fit, a la John Cena. There’s just certain talent. Dusty, just, you know. But I think Cody has the innate babyface DNA,” he said.
He also pointed to Brandi Rhodes appearing on the show and to what a turn would cost.
“Brandi and Cody can definitely go down the heel road, Cody by himself. I think if you’re ringing the cash register, which is TKO’s priority, you got to balance all that out,” Jarrett said. “So if we’re going to commit to Cody going heel, Brandi back on camera as a full-time character, if they’re going down that road, then who replaces Cody in your, not just merch, but kind of that top babyface? Who is that?”
