Jeff Jarrett paid tribute to Andy Williams, who wrestled as The Butcher in AEW, after his death at 48.
Jarrett said his son broke the news to him.
“Three words come to mind when I think of Andy. Full of life,” Jarrett said on My World with Jeff Jarrett. “It’s just hard to describe individuals like Andy. When I began to understand that his, I don’t say first love, but the musician career that he had, and he obviously, like all of us, was a fan of wrestling before he got into it. And for him to dive in, learn the trade, work his way up, get signed, be a part of AEW. That’s successful in two careers. That ain’t easy. Nobody, you just can’t do that. So his passion for life always shined through.”
Jarrett said Karen sent him a clip of Williams writing songs in the days before he died.
“You begin to wonder, like, man, life is so short, and you just never ever know what is going to happen tomorrow,” he said.
Jarrett also pointed to the seminars Williams ran.
“There’s not some big financial windfall that just comes out of the air. You do seminars and teach seminars because you love the business, and in your heart of hearts, feel like you can pass on some of your knowledge and passion, but also your experience,” Jarrett said. “I am so sorry for his family’s loss. It’s just a tragedy. None of us are promised tomorrow.”
