IYO SKY says Rhea Ripley’s time away from the ring is giving her a break she needed.
Speaking on The Ringer Wrestling Show, SKY said she and Ripley have not spoken much about the injury, explaining, “I’m not a texting person. I’m not phone call person. So we haven’t talked too much.”
SKY said Ripley’s schedule before the injury was heavier than her own, saying, “I really know she was being too busy, way busier than me. She was all over the world. She had main events, she had championship match, and she had media interviews.” She said she noticed it during their run as a team, adding, “Sometimes I think about her, oh my gosh, she’s overworking.”
SKY said the time off is difficult to watch but necessary, saying, “Now she’s injured, that makes me sad, but definitely she needs time to take time. But also I know her personality, she will come back when she is become much stronger than before.”
Ripley has been out since June with a torn meniscus that required surgery. WWE still recognizes her as Women’s Champion, with Chelsea Green holding the interim title.
