MJF has reacted to being ranked No. 1 in the 2026 PWI 500.
Pro Wrestling Illustrated released its 36th annual list on September 24, covering August 2025 through July 2026. MJF joined PWI’s Lyric Swinton on a reaction podcast and congratulated the magazine for putting him on top before running through the rest of the top 10.
He kept it short on No. 2 Cody Rhodes: “Mentor. Beat him.” He also said he beat No. 3 CM Punk and No. 5 Konosuke Takeshita, and pointed to his match with No. 4 Mistico at Grand Slam Mexico.
On No. 6 Hangman Adam Page, he said: “Dork. Can never be the AEW World champion ever again. And I beat him.”
When Swinton noted that No. 7 Yota Tsuji is a reigning world champion, MJF replied, “On what planet? A World champion of being skinny fat.”
He had praise for No. 8 Trick Williams and No. 9 Oba Femi, both represented by his agent, Brian Dipperstein. On No. 10 Gunther, he said, “Gunther’s probably the hardest hitting pro wrestler in the game, besides me of course.”
MJF said he is “waiting for the right time and the right moment” to return and did not reveal any plans.
“Whenever I come back, just know that the PWI cover is not going to be far behind. I’m going to be shoving this down everybody’s throats for as long as humanly possible.”
