Jeff Jarrett believes Gable Steveson’s 12-second knockout loss at UFC 331 has made fans more curious about his next fight.
Steveson, the Olympic gold medalist and former WWE developmental talent, was knocked out by Sean Sharaf in 12 seconds. Speaking on the latest episode of My World with Jeff Jarrett, Jarrett looked at the loss from a promoter’s perspective, saying, “Curiosity, the Q rating, wanting to see. I believe it has increased. If he got knocked out in 12 seconds, I know I am much more interested in watching this next fight of his than I would have been on Saturday.”
Jarrett called the result “a massive upset” and pointed to a lesson from former basketball coach Bobby Knight, who Jarrett said believed “the best motivator for a basketball player is to bench his a–.”
“My gut tells me old Gable has got plenty of things to get motivated about,” Jarrett said.
