Tony Schiavone believes PAC’s Black Arrow should be retired.
Speaking on What Happened When, Schiavone reflected on PAC, whose real name was Benjamin Satterley. He died on September 27 at 40, one day after wrestling at AEW All Out.
“Look how he portrayed himself in the ring. That’s how good he was. That’s absolutely how good he was. I would say it’s probably time to retire the Black Arrow, that move he had. But to be honest with you, I don’t think anybody else could ever do something like that because, to me, it was maybe the greatest finishing move we had.”
Schiavone was on commentary for PAC’s final match against Andrade El Idolo at All Out.
“I’m so glad I was there for his match, now being his last match. But I remember saying, ‘I don’t think there’s a better athlete,’ and I said it so many times pound-for-pound, and I really thought that. I thought he was one of those guys that never gave you a bad match. And there’s just a handful of people like that in wrestling. PAC was one of them.”
He added, “So, Ben Satterley will forever be missed. Not for his ring work, but because of how great a person he is and was.”
On the September 30 Dynamite tribute to PAC, Will Ospreay used the Black Arrow to beat Ricochet in the main event.
