WWE will wait as long as possible before making any decision to move Crown Jewel or WrestleMania 43 out of Saudi Arabia, according to the Wrestling Observer.
Crown Jewel is set for November 7 in Riyadh, and WrestleMania 43 is scheduled to take place there in 2027. The U.S. Embassy in Saudi Arabia currently has a Level 3 travel advisory in place, telling Americans to reconsider travel to the country.
Dave Meltzer wrote that WWE wants to keep both shows in Saudi Arabia because of the money involved.
“They are not going to even hint at a pullout decision until they make it. Obviously they want to do both shows there because it’s a ton of money. So in both cases they will wait until the last possible time to announce a pull-out and they will do everything to avoid it. I mean, if it’s super dangerous to go, they aren’t going, but they still won’t say so until the latest time possible.”
According to the report, Crown Jewel is worth about $60 million, while WrestleMania is expected to bring in well over $100 million. Canceling and rescheduling Crown Jewel would affect WWE’s fourth-quarter revenue.
On the idea of Las Vegas as a backup for WrestleMania 43, Meltzer said sources there indicated the needed April dates are not available, and that the city cannot offer the same financial incentives it has for past events.
