Will Ospreay On The Black Arrow: “I Threw My Heart Out In Front Of Me And Ben Caught It”

AEW

Will Ospreay says he spent hours practicing the Black Arrow before using it to beat Ricochet on the September 30 AEW Dynamite tribute to PAC.

Ospreay posted on X that he had not done the move, PAC’s finisher, in eight years.

“Got to the arena at 2PM and was in the ring til doors opened practicing. I haven’t performed the Black Arrow for 8 years. Something told me on this night I could make the jump. I threw my heart out in front of me and Ben caught it. Thank you Pac.”

According to the Wrestling Observer, Ospreay had decided on his own that the Black Arrow would be the finish, but struggled with it in practice. After filming a taped promo, he worked on the move in the ring with Ricochet, Mike Bailey, and Kyle Fletcher for four to five hours before doors opened. Some people told him not to try it because of the injury risk, while others told him he could do it.

The report also noted that when WWE needed motion capture for the Black Arrow in a video game, PAC, then known as Neville, did it himself because no one else could perform the move.
