Scotty 2 Hotty On Coaching In AEW: “It’s Never Been About The Money For Me”

AEW

Scotty 2 Hotty says he still loves the wrestling business as an AEW coach at 53.

Speaking on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Scotty recalled telling Tim White on a WWE tour bus in his mid-20s that he would be done wrestling by 30.

“Now I just turned 53. I started when I was 15. I love it,” he said.

“It’s never been about the money for me. It’s just doing something I’m passionate about and doing something that I love, and I get to do it, and I feel like I can still go, and I do it at a respectable level.”

He said he enjoys the travel that comes with the job.

“I know a lot of guys who do this, they hate the travel. I love the travel. Now working with AEW as a coach, it’s like there’s times where we’ll have a Wednesday show and then a Saturday show. Say it’s on the West Coast, I’ll just stay out there in between and I’ll go to Yosemite or I’ll go to someplace cool in Arizona.”

He also said his first ring name was “The Gigolo” Jeff Taylor.

“I was 16 and I was the gigolo. I don’t even think I really knew what a gigolo was at the time.”
