Jeff Jarrett says that after 40 years in wrestling, the fans are what keep him going.
On My World with Jeff Jarrett, Jarrett said he thought about it while packing up merchandise in his garage before 1FW Rumble in Rome.
“I’m thinking, what am I? What am I doing?… Sure, everybody likes to make money and sure, the fame that comes with it. But what really drives me is that I think I am very driven by when people come through the door, I want them to experience professional wrestling and make them a fan for life. That to me is at the very top of my priority list,” Jarrett said.
“This business has fed my family since ’46. The very least I can do is when people are coming out and enjoying it, make their experience the absolute best.”
He said what happens outside the ring matters more than the match itself.
“It’s more important what we do outside the ring at wrestling events as opposed to bell to bell.”
Jarrett said that applies to his work for QT Marshall’s 1FW.
“Yes, I’m doing it for QT, and yes, I’m doing it for a paycheck, but at the very top, I am doing it for the fans.”
