Jeff Jarrett says Max Caster needs to take accountability for the rap that ended his time in TNA.
TNA announced on October 12 that Caster will no longer wrestle for the company after he referenced the attacks in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, during his pre-match rap at Bound For Glory. Jarrett and Caster feuded in AEW.
On My World with Jeff Jarrett, Jarrett said he does not think Caster thought it through.
“I think Max is a good kid, but I’m going to emphasize kid, young. I don’t think he thought that through, but we all have consequences in life,” Jarrett said. “There is no excuse, dude. What are you thinking? Never go political.”
Jarrett also questioned how the line made it to air.
“Who approved it, and if they approved it, where’s the accountability there? Like, what is the chain of command?”
He said Caster needs to address it himself.
“Max, buddy, we need to hear from you… You screwed up. Own it. I mean, take accountability for it,” Jarrett said. “Politics and religion are a very personal matter that do not alienate your audience. There’s no upside, none. I hate it, man. I hate it for TNA. I hate it for Max. I hate it for the business because people are talking about that out of an event.”
Jarrett said his grandmother told him when he was 18 or 19 not to discuss politics, religion or wrestling.
“I hope this is a teachable moment, and you are listening. Never invoke religion or politics again in your raps, ever, ever.”
He said Caster has to be proactive from here.
“No such thing as obstacles in life, only opportunities. Which opportunity will he seize? Stay tuned.”
