Adam Copeland is turning heel, according to Bryan Alvarez.
Copeland submitted to Kyle Fletcher to end the men’s Blood and Guts match on the November 4 episode of AEW Dynamite after Fletcher threatened to keep hurting his teammates. Fletcher then had Wardlow throw Darby Allin off the top of the cage through a stack of tables.
On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer said Will Ospreay was upset with Copeland.
“When Copeland submitted, Ospreay was p—ed at him,” Meltzer said.
Alvarez said the finish set up a change for Copeland.
“I think there were a lot of things that happened here. Like you’ve set up the Ospreay-Kyle match. Kyle got the big win going to the match with the champion. Copeland is for sure turning heel, and this was, I’m sure, the impetus for that,” Alvarez said.
Fletcher challenges Ospreay for the AEW World Championship at Full Gear on November 14.
