WWE star Chelsea Green has officially put an end to any rumors about her future, confirming in a new interview that she has signed a new contract with the company. The former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion has become one of the most entertaining and reliable characters on television, and she expressed her happiness with her current versatile role, which has recently seen her appear on SmackDown, NXT, and even AAA in the same week.
During an appearance on the “Gabby AF” podcast, Green confirmed the news of her new deal.
“I just re-signed. Oh, yay. Thank you. I just re-signed. I’m so happy here and I’m okay to take a moment and fill my days and my weeks with media and traveling to represent WWE as the face… I am still busy even though I don’t necessarily have a direction. I’m happy and I think that’s all that matters. It’s not always about winning, it’s not always about being on pay-per-view. I know what I bring to this company and I know that they can trust me with anything. To me, it matters most that they can trust me to have a hour long conversation with you as well as go to Saudi Arabia and let me represent them in a classy way and go down to Mexico and draw a crowd. That is what makes me happy; I know that I’m a value to this company.”
With her new contract secured, Green is already setting her sights on new goals, thanks to WWE’s ongoing partnership with TNA Wrestling. She revealed her desire to challenge for the TNA Knockouts Championship, a title she held earlier in her career.
“I love Kelani. And I would love to take the title off her and have a full-circle moment. I practically never held the TNA Title. I held the iMPACT! Knockouts Title. Yeah, it’s insane.”
