Fred Ottman, known to fans as Typhoon and The Shockmaster, revealed on Sunday that he has been hospitalized for the past month following a severe medical emergency. The 69-year-old stated on Instagram that his gallbladder “exploded,” leading to serious infections and a brutal fight for his health.
“If I would have waited one more day, the doctors told me I probably wouldn’t be here with you,” Ottman shared. He noted that he has lost significant muscle mass and is learning to walk again but is hopeful to be discharged soon. Ottman, a member of the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2025 as part of The Natural Disasters, is scheduled for a follow-up surgery on January 23 to remove a drainage bag.
