MJF has significant creative input on the storylines he is directly part of, but not on the rest of AEW’s main event scene, according to Sean Ross Sapp.
Answering a question about MJF’s involvement in booking the AEW World Championship picture during a Fightful Select Q&A, Sapp said MJF has a major influence over the programs he is personally in, and contributes creatively in some capacity. Whether that input is written into his AEW contract is not clear, though his behind the scenes involvement has been known within the company for a long time.
Asked whether that extends to other top talent, including Swerve Strickland, Hangman Page, and Jon Moxley, Sapp said he does not believe it does outside of storylines MJF is directly involved in.
Sapp also noted that some AEW talent object to any wrestler having creative control or influence over booking.
MJF faces Mike Bailey and Nick Wayne on Wednesday’s Dynamite for the second Casino Gauntlet spot at All In.
