Kenny Omega’s heel turn heading into AEW All In: London 2026 was in part his own call, according to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
Meltzer reported that Omega felt turning heel was the best thing for his match with Will Ospreay, a bout built to finish on a crowning moment, and that the change raised the chances of the main event and its result standing the test of time.
The AEW World Champion’s programming with Ospreay has shifted over the last several weeks. Omega has aimed personal promos at his Wembley challenger and put him through a table with a One Winged Angel. The two had previously been presented as friends and allies.
