Mike Bailey has joined Will Ospreay’s United Empire.
On the September 23 episode of AEW Dynamite, Ospreay, alongside Francesco Akira, asked Bailey to join the group. Bailey accepted, while referencing his previous issues with alliances, including his history with Kevin Knight. Ospreay and Bailey then defeated the Death Riders’ Claudio Castagnoli and Gabe Kidd in the main event.
Bailey becomes the third member of the AEW chapter, joining Ospreay and Akira, who also remains part of the original NJPW group currently led by Callum Newman.
Ospreay pledged to start an AEW version of United Empire on the Dynamite following All In. He founded the faction in NJPW in 2020 after leaving Chaos and turning on Kazuchika Okada, with Bea Priestley and Great O-Khan among the early members and Jeff Cobb joining later. The NJPW chapter has also featured Henare and Andrade El Idolo.
Ospreay defends the AEW World Championship against Jon Moxley at All Out on September 26.
