Will Ospreay will defend the AEW World Championship in the first Clockwork Carnage match at AEW WrestleDream on October 17.
Ospreay retained the title against Kazuchika Okada on AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam France. Samoa Joe also qualified for the match on the same show by beating Jack Perry.
Eight wrestlers will enter Clockwork Carnage at three-minute intervals, with eliminations allowed until everyone has entered. A 15-minute time limit then begins, and whoever scores the most falls in that period leaves as AEW World Champion.
Two more title matches were added to WrestleDream. World Trios Champions Swerve Strickland and The New Level challenged Hangman Page and Brodido (Bandido and Brody King) to a two-out-of-three falls match after Swerve and Page brawled at ringside during Bandido’s ROH World Championship match with Kofi.
Jon Moxley will also defend the AEW Continental Championship against Mark Davis, who earned the shot by pinning Gabe Kidd in a tag match alongside Jake Doyle.
WrestleDream takes place at Addition Financial Arena in Orlando, Florida.
The Collision edition of Grand Slam France airs Saturday, October 10 on TNT and HBO Max:
- AEW World Tag Team Championship: The Young Bucks (c) vs. The Dogs (Clark Connors and David Finlay)
- Chris Jericho vs. Nick Wayne
- Clockwork Carnage Qualifier: Mike Bailey vs. Lee Moriarty
- Brawling Birds (Alex Windsor and Jamie Hayter), Kris Statlander and Harley Cameron vs. Sisters of Sin (Julia Hart and Skye Blue) and Divine Dominion (Lena Kross and Megan Bayne)
