Je’Von Evans’ ambulance spot at Money in the Bank was designed to go viral and to protect him in a match he was not going to win, according to WrestleVotes.
The 22-year-old crashed through the roof of an ambulance during the men’s Money in the Bank ladder match on October 10 in New Orleans. PENTA won the match.
During a WrestleVotes Q&A session, JoeyVotes said the spot was built for social media.
“The reason for it was to have a big spot where people would react and lose their minds and share the video a million times on social media. It was just to be viral.”
TC said it also gave WWE a way to take Evans out of the match.
“And take him out of the match since he could not win it. And kinda protect him, like, okay, he’s gonna lose this match. He’s 22 years old, he has a huge future ahead of him, and now you add a big spot to his résumé that he can use going forward as one of his video package moments and iconic scenes.”
“It was like, hey, get him out of the match with an ambulance, and it will be like, wow, what a great spot for Je’Von. And you kinda take the focus off that he lost another match in a big spot yet again.”
