Jeff Jarrett says he believes Bruce Prichard had not forgiven him for walking out of the WWF in 1995.
Jarrett and Road Dogg left the WWF in July 1995. Jarrett returned later that year, then left again in 1996 and debuted in WCW that October. On My World with Jeff Jarrett, Jarrett was asked whether Vince McMahon lost confidence in him after the walkout.
“I don’t think Vince did. I think Bruce, and it’s no secret, Bruce has always had, when he works there, a lot of influence on Vince. Bruce had not forgiven me. Yeah, period, and I’m sure Pat as well,” Jarrett said.
“I wasn’t getting any extra added boost. Those good agent reports in ’94, Pat would come up to me, ‘Hey, I heard you and Razor tore the house down in so and so.’ I was getting great feedback. Vince was hearing great feedback from road agents and Bruce and Pat, and I knew that was non-existent when I came back.”
Jarrett said he was disappointed with how he was used after his return.
“Promises is too strong a word. Opportunity would be, man. They could have given me a lot better opportunity. Also knew the injury kind of screwed the pooch.”
“I was disappointed. I had heard about the guaranteed money. My legal advice was very strong. At the very least, you don’t want to re-sign this contract.”
