Jeff Jarrett recently talked about a wide range of topics on his My World podcast.
During the podcast, the AEW star discussed the return of Nigel McGuinness at AEW All In, where he worked the Casino Gaunlet Match.
“The real true story that you go all the way back to Nigel’s childhood was he attended the Wembley event and said, ‘I want to do that.’ To fast forward with his career and the Ring Of Honor accolades and then he was with TNA. I believe his very last match was with Samoa Joe in a TNA ring and just overnight, [his] career came to an end and then he kept on keeping on. I think he’s a fantastic color commentator that gives insight that other guys can’t do. When you have in ring experience, you call a match or commentate a match — at the end of the day, I think that’s one of the things that made [Jerry] Lawler so damn good. He’d been in there and thought like a wrestler. Nigel’s color commentary is just getting rocking and rolling but for him to have that moment in Wembley, the childhood dream if you will. Jesus, how could you not get emotional watching that? Coming out that earlier and surviving — the people in that venue had he had won, woo boy. I think as the match went on, I think that’s where that groundswell kept going and going. But it was a cool moment.”
