A feature article was written about Terry Funk and Ric Flair’s 1989 feud that Phil Schneider of The Ringer published.
AEW’s Eddie Kingston recalled how he has tried to pitch doing something similar to the angle during the feud where Funk wrapped a plastic bag around Flair’s head and tried to suffocate him at Clash of the Champions 8.
“Trust me, I know how Turner is scared about that because I’ve asked about the plastic bag several times,” Kingston said while reflecting on his 2022 feud with Chris Jericho. “It was always walking in and Tony [Khan] going, ‘We’re not doing the plastic bag.’”
