HOOK made his return to AEW programming on the August 27 episode of Dynamite, his first appearance since May. The former FTW Champion returned with a new theme song, attacking Wheeler Yuta after his match with Jon Moxley.
A report from Fightful Select has provided details on the change in his entrance music.
“Hook is back and he has a new theme. Hook returned to the company after a number of months out, complete with a new theme song. Hook’s theme is a 1996 song “So Tell The Girls That I Am Back In Town” from Jay-Jay Johanson. It’s a stark contract from the Action Bronson theme that Hook had for a number of years. Last year, Action Bronson took shots at the AEW environment, which definitely didn’t sit well with a number of people in All Elite Wrestling. However, we’re told by at least one person that things seemingly were smoothed over at some point. But the decision was actually made by then to move on to a different theme for Hook. It was noted back in January to us that Hook was coming out without his entrance for a specific reason – the rights to the Bronson theme had expired, and the company was working on what to do for his next theme. If you go back to January, you’ll notice that AEW was being creative in bringing him out with other people, and also having him attack people without his entrance music playing.”
