Tiffany Stratton winning the women’s Money in the Bank briefcase was always the long-term plan in WWE, according to Fightful Select. The plan was for Stratton to eventually become a contender for Chelsea Green’s WWE Women’s Championship.
Stratton won the women’s Money in the Bank ladder match on October 10 in New Orleans. One plan did change before the show.
“One plan that did change was the result of the SmackDown match that featured Stratton, Jacy Jayne and Lash Legend, beating Lola Vice, Roxanne Perez and Sol Ruca,” Fightful reported. “We’re told that as of that day, the result was going to be the opposite. The women involved in the Money in the Bank ladder match had learned the night before (Thursday) that Stratton would be winning.”
Since Money in the Bank, Stratton and Green have stayed friends on WWE TV. Stratton has tried several times to cash in on Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan, but The Judgment Day has stopped each attempt before the match could start.
Green faces Morgan for the Women’s Crown Jewel Championship at Crown Jewel on November 7 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
