Two new matches have been announced for the upcoming September 25 episode of Ring of Honor television. The show is set to feature a major championship match, as the new ROH World Tag Team Champions, LFI (Sammy Guevara & Rush), will make their first defense of the championships against The Von Erichs (Ross & Marshall Von Erich). This match is a direct result of the shocking events at the recent Death Before Dishonor pay-per-view. On that night, Guevara and The Von Erichs failed to capture the ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Championships. Later, Guevara revealed Rush as his mystery partner to win the vacant World Tag Team Championships, and then viciously turned on The Von Erichs, officially aligning himself with La Faccion Ingobernable. The upcoming championship match is now a deeply personal grudge match for the Von Erich brothers as they seek revenge on their former partner.
Also announced for next week’s show is a mixed tag team match featuring The Premier Athletes. The trio of Tony Nese, Ariya Daivari, and their new associate, Stori Denali, will be in action. This will mark the official in-ring debut for Denali, who was recently revealed as the “contingency plan” for the group. The match will give fans their first look at what the newest member of the faction can do in the ring as The Premier Athletes look to establish their dominance in Ring of Honor.
The current lineup for next Thursday’s ROH TV is below:
- ROH World Tag Team Championships Match: LFI (RUSH & Sammy Guevara) (champion) vs. The Von Erichs (Ross Von Erich & Marshall Von Erich)
- The Premier Athletes (Tony Nese, Ariya Daivari, and Stori Denali) in a mixed tag team match
