AEW and ROH star Taya Valkyrie recently shared her thoughts on what makes All Elite Wrestling stand out in the modern wrestling landscape, praising the company and its president, Tony Khan, for being “disruptors” who are not afraid to take risks. Valkyrie, who has competed in major promotions all over the world, including WWE, TNA, and AAA, has a unique perspective on the industry. She believes that AEW’s “grittier” style and its willingness to showcase talent from the international and independent scenes have been key to its success in shaking up the business and providing fans with a different perspective on professional wrestling. Her comments reflect the passion and creative energy that many performers feel within the AEW environment.
During a recent appearance on Women’s Wrestling Talk, the former multi-time champion explained what she believes is AEW’s core identity.
“Here’s the thing: AEW to me is the disruptor. They came in and shook the cage a little bit, making people see pro wrestling from a different perspective. They brought in talent who were thriving internationally, in the Indies, and from around the world. We’re grittier, we’re not afraid to take risks, and Tony (Khan) isn’t afraid to disrupt. That makes wrestling fun and keeps it interesting.”
Valkyrie recently competed in the inaugural ROH Women’s Pure Championship Tournament in August, where she had a hard-fought match against Queen Aminata at the Death Before Dishonor pay-per-view.
