AEW star Thunder Rosa recently opened up about her breakout role as Kobra Moon in Lucha Underground, calling the experience both “the best and the worst” of her career. Speaking on the Masks, Mats & Mayhem podcast, Rosa discussed the financial realities and the invaluable learning experience.
“I think it was the best and the worst. The best is like your first opportunity on TV, your major contract, getting paid like the ridiculous amount of money that used we used to get paid… The ridiculous stuff on the contracts. And it’s just crazy.”
However, she credited the talent around her—including Rey Mysterio, Ricochet, and Swerve Strickland—for forcing her to improve.
“I don’t think if I wouldn’t been part of that specific time… I wouldn’t be where I am right now. Because it forced me to be better than I was, because I was in the presence of excellence… And a lot of us, we learned how to work TV at that time. And it was like sink or swim. And you guys were there when I f**king sunk.”
