Paul Wight Says He Is “Salivating” To Compete Again

Paul Wight is not ready to hang up his boots.

Despite wrestling only a handful of times in recent years, the AEW star revealed on the NotSam Wrestling Live! podcast that he intends to compete on a more full-time schedule once he is fully healed. Wight cited multiple surgeries, including hip and knee replacements, as the reason for his limited activity.

“I’ve had a major surgery every year! For about the past five — whether it’s a knee surgery or a hip surgery… I feel like that old pickup truck,” Wight said.

However, he remains eager to get back to work.

“Trust me, I see the opportunity in AEW, I see the chances too. To have fun with the talent in the back, to entertain the fans, the financial gains for being able to compete at a more full-time schedule. Yeah, believe me, I’m salivating over here, 100 percent.”

Wight’s last match took place in January 2024 on Chris Jericho’s cruise.
