AEW World Champion MJF is not shy about taking credit for the company’s current momentum. Speaking to Mostly Sports, he addressed the state of AEW’s business, claiming a steady upward trend in key metrics throughout 2026. “All Elite Wrestling’s never been better, ticket sales are up in every single market year over year, the ratings are up slowly but steadily,” MJF asserted.
He attributed this success directly to his presence at the top of the card. “Professional wrestling is a rollercoaster… but right now we’re on a steady incline and, I’m gonna be honest, it’s pretty obvious why. MJF’s back and he’s got the World Championship.”
However, MJF’s reign faces an immediate threat. Following his loss in an Eliminator match on last night’s Dynamite, it has been confirmed that MJF will defend the AEW World Title against Brody King at Grand Slam Australia. Beyond that, he is scheduled to defend the title at Revolution against the winner of the upcoming Hangman Page vs. Andrade El Idolo bout.
