MJF heads into AEW Revolution with a loaded title picture behind him and a Texas Deathmatch against Hangman Page directly in front of him — and he’s not short on words about either.
Speaking with Yahoo! Uncrowned ahead of Sunday’s pay-per-view, the AEW World Champion surveyed a main event scene he described as the most competitive in the promotion’s seven-year history. “You have me, ‘Hangman,’ Swerve, Jon Moxley, Kenny Omega, Samoa Joe, Andrade El Idolo. Now you’ve got Brody King, who just popped up there and he fits like a glove, whether I want to admit it or not. You’ve got your Kyle Fletchers of the world… I mean, the list goes on and on — and that’s the scary part.”
MJF on Hangman Page and Why Revolution Is His Event
Despite the crowded field, MJF acknowledged a level of mutual respect — and frustration — when it comes to his rivalry with Page. “We are both the two most driven men in All Elite Wrestling by a wide margin,” he said. “As far as two individuals who are willing to do literally whatever it takes to be the best, he’s the only person that I feel is in my category.”
With Revolution having hosted his Dog Collar match and Ironman match in previous years, MJF is confident Sunday’s Texas Deathmatch will add another chapter to that legacy. “Everyone is going into it thinking this is Hangman’s match. People think I’m scared. I’m not scared.” He made his intentions clear: “There is nothing off the table for me. Morality is only for the foolish. Not if you want to go down as the greatest of all time.”
