MJF returned at Grand Slam Mexico on Wednesday, attacking Andrade El Idolo and laying out his route to All In: London.
It was his first appearance since losing the AEW World Championship to Kenny Omega last month. MJF came out after Andrade won a three-way to claim the top spot in the men’s Casino Gauntlet match, hit him while carrying his Triple B World title belt, and took back his Dynamite Diamond ring.
On the microphone he called Andrade “trash” and Mexico “a piece of s–t country” before turning to Omega and Will Ospreay. He said Omega holds a “toy belt,” said he would enter a qualifier for the number two Gauntlet spot, and said he would win it and take his title back. He claimed the Triple B is the only championship that should be recognized.
MJF was not on last month’s Redemption pay-per-view. Dave Meltzer reported that the Omega vs. MJF match that took place on the Beach Break edition of Dynamite had originally been planned for that pay-per-view before it was moved up.
Next Wednesday’s Dynamite from Las Vegas is set to feature MJF against an unannounced opponent for the second Gauntlet spot.
