Jeff Jarrett said a WWE and Disney partnership would be a strategic play by TKO, and that he can see it running well past televised events.
“When I heard this in the stock report I went, okay, it’s TKO, another strategic kind of play, and I immediately thought, okay, working with Disney, hey folks, who owns ESPN? They’re already working with Disney,” Jarrett said on My World with Jeff Jarrett.
He said he had conversations with the chairman back in 2018 and 2019 when WWE was aligned with NBC Universal, which owns the Harry Potter attractions in Orlando that he said transformed that company’s theme park business.
“I can see a John Cena. I can see even pop up stuff in any of those parks globally, because there’s Disney parks all over the world. I can see them working with theme parks. I can see them working with Disney cruises,” Jarrett said.
He said WWE’s own reach is the asset in the deal.
“You get into the DNA of WWE’s social media echo chamber, it is gigantic. So there’s a huge funnel there with WWE social media that can get them to the parks,” Jarrett said. “They’re looking at that stock report, and if Disney can see money to be made, you never know, Disney could be the next owner of that property. They’re already working with them. They’re just going to expand the relationship.”
