Kenny Omega has returned to NJPW, and he is going after the IWGP Heavyweight Championship.
At King of Pro-Wrestling on October 12, Yota Tsuji retained the IWGP Heavyweight Championship against Ryohei Oiwa. Omega then appeared in a video challenging Tsuji. When Oleg Boltin came to the ring to confront Tsuji, Omega came out and laid out both men.
Backstage, Omega said he is not the number one contender. He suggested a non-title three-way match against Tsuji and Boltin at Power Struggle on November 3, with Omega getting a title match if he wins.
Outside of shows co-promoted with AEW, Omega has not wrestled in an NJPW ring since January 2023. He lost the AEW World Championship to Will Ospreay at All In in August.
Updated card for NJPW Power Struggle on November 3:
- IWGP Tag Team Championship: Knock Out Brothers (Yuto-Ice and OSKAR) (c) vs. United Empire (Will Ospreay and Callum Newman)
- IWGP Global Heavyweight Championship: Gabe Kidd (c) vs. Taichi
- Kenny Omega vs. Yota Tsuji vs. Oleg Boltin
