Shawn Michaels is planned to replace Bruce Prichard as WWE’s Executive Director of Creative Writing and Talent when Prichard steps back after WrestleMania 43, according to PWInsider.
The succession plan has reportedly been in place for some time.
PWInsider reported earlier this week that Prichard is expected to stay connected to WWE as a consultant after WrestleMania 43. The report said Prichard is stepping away because he needs a “very serious surgery.”
Michaels has worked behind the scenes in WWE since 2018, first as a coach and producer in NXT. He took over NXT creative in September 2021 after Triple H stepped away following a cardiac event.
Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer reported that AJ Styles looks set to replace Michaels as the head of NXT. Bayley and CM Punk may also have more input into NXT in 2027, and more NXT office changes are expected next year.
