Enzo Amore is believed to have signed a new deal with WWE over the last week, according to PWInsider.
People backstage in WWE believe the deal is done, and Amore could be headed to NXT, the report said. WWE has not announced a signing.
Fightful reported last week that Amore had held talks with WWE this year. Dave Meltzer said in October that there was talk of Amore going to NXT and that WWE wanted to keep him apart from his former tag team partner, Big Cass.
“It was talked to me like it was pretty much a done deal, but they were gonna keep Enzo and Cass apart because of the idea that if they put them together, Cass’s upside is very limited in that tag team based on how WWE does tag teams,” Meltzer said.
Amore was released by WWE in January 2018 after a sexual assault allegation, which he denied. Police closed their investigation later that year, citing insufficient evidence. He has since wrestled for TNA and MLW, among others.
