Tay Melo made her return to AEW television on the June 4, 2025, “Fyter Fest” special, marking her first appearance for the company in approximately two years. Melo made an impactful save for her former tag team partner, Anna Jay.
During a segment on the four-hour Fyter Fest event, Anna Jay was being attacked by Megan Bayne and Penelope Ford. As the assault continued, “Tay Melo’s music hits, as she takes out Ford and was about to charge at Bayne, but both had to be separated by security.” Melo received a loud pop from the Denver crowd for her return.
Melo has been absent from AEW programming since early 2023. She was first sidelined due to a back injury and subsequently took maternity leave, welcoming her first child with husband and fellow AEW star Sammy Guevara in late 2023, after announcing their pregnancy at Double or Nothing 2023. While away from AEW, Melo did make an in-ring return for STARDOM in January 2025, teaming with Mina Shirakawa against Thekla and ROH Women’s World Champion Athena. Her last AEW match was a tag team street fight with Anna Jay against Ruby Soho and Willow Nightingale on a January 2023 episode of Rampage. Her return potentially signals a reunion of “TayJay.
