After it was announced that he was not medically cleared to compete and had to vacate the TNT Championship, Adam Cole addressed the fans at AEW All In: Texas.
Cole came to the ring and emotionally stated that it was hard to put into words and apologized for not being able to wrestle. He explained that he has been dealing with health issues for a while and will be gone for some time.
He noted that he was not in the right headspace to talk about retirement, but wanted the chance to speak to the fans in case this was a final goodbye.
“It’s really hard to put it into words and I’m sorry I can’t wrestle,” Cole said. “I have health issues that have been going on for a while and I’ll be gone for a while. I don’t even wanna talk about retiring since I’m not in the headspace, but I wanted to address the fans if this is goodbye for me.”
Following his address, the other members of his faction, Paragon, joined him in the ring.
