A mysterious new storyline has begun for the undefeated AEW star, Hologram. Following his victory over Jay Lethal on the Saturday, August 30 episode of AEW Collision, a strange vignette aired on the arena’s video screens. The arena lighting turned red as computer text appeared, displaying the words “Clon activated” and “Access Granted.” A brief image of a sinister-looking version of Hologram was then shown before the word “soon” ended the segment, leaving the real Hologram clutching his head in confusion.
This tease is a direct follow-up to a similar, more subtle event at the ROH Death Before Dishonor pay-per-view the previous night. Before Hologram’s match at that show, the screen briefly flashed the words “Access Denied,” hinting that something was amiss.
The new angle introduces the first major challenge for Hologram, who has been dominant since debuting in AEW last summer. His victory over the veteran Jay Lethal on Collision marked his 31st consecutive win in the company, establishing him as one of the most protected stars on the roster. The introduction of a “clone” or doppelgänger presents a unique and psychological threat to the high-flying luchador, who has also been making successful appearances in CMLL in his native Mexico. The wrestling world will be watching closely to see what happens next in this developing story.
