Amidst recent critical comments from former AEW star Jake Hager about Tony Khan’s management style, the reigning ROH World Champion and new AEW World Tag Team Champion, Bandido, has offered a completely different perspective. In a recent interview with the Battleground Podcast, Bandido was asked about Hager’s controversial statements and responded with nothing but praise for the AEW and ROH president, emphasizing the belief Khan has shown in him throughout his career. Bandido’s comments provide a stark contrast to Hager’s and highlight the positive relationships that many wrestlers have with the company’s leadership.
The double champion expressed his gratitude for the opportunities he has been given and reflected on his long history with Khan, which dates back to his time in Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG).
“I’m very grateful for him. He always believed in me since day one. I choose a different company in the beginning but Tony was very excited with me since PWG shows and I’m just happy to be here now and Tony believes in me. I just want to say thank you to Tony, thank you to all the company and thank you to all my partners here because it’s such a great locker room over here.”
Bandido is currently one of the most decorated champions across both promotions. He recently defended his ROH World Championship against the formidable Hechicero at the Death Before Dishonor pay-per-view. This successful title defense, combined with his recent AEW World Tag Team Championship victory alongside Brody King at Forbidden Door, has solidified his position as one of the top stars in the entire All Elite Wrestling and Ring of Honor ecosystem.
