The stipulation has been set for the highly personal grudge match between Mark Briscoe and Maxwell Jacob Friedman at the upcoming AEW All Out pay-per-view. The September 13 episode of AEW Collision kicked off with MJF coming to the ring to find out what type of match his opponent had chosen for their encounter in Toronto on September 20. The match will now be a No Disqualification Tables and Thumbtacks match, a brutal stipulation that reflects the intense animosity between the two men. The feud has become one of the most heated in All Elite Wrestling, stemming from MJF’s personal insults and his recent kidnapping of Briscoe to blackmail AEW World Champion “Hangman” Adam Page.
The announcement was made via a video message from Mark Briscoe, who was at his family farm. After laying out the violent challenge, Briscoe directed MJF to turn around, revealing that he was live in the 2300 Arena. Briscoe then ambushed MJF from behind, getting the upper hand on his rival. He pulled out a bag full of thumbtacks and prepared to slam MJF onto them, but the former world champion managed to escape the ring and retreat. The segment added another layer of intensity to their feud and gave fans a taste of the carnage to come at the pay-per-view.
