Ricochet Felt WWE Didn’t Let Him Know They Wanted Him To Stay

WWE

AEW star Ricochet recently opened up about his departure from WWE in June 2024, stating that he felt the company did not make a serious effort to re-sign him when his contract expired. The former WWE United States and Intercontinental Champion was a featured performer on the RAW brand, but his tenure ended after a brutal storyline attack by Bron Breakker, who put him through a car windshield. The angle was a definitive way to write him off television, and just two months later, he made his shocking debut for All Elite Wrestling at the All In pay-per-view in London. His arrival in AEW marked a major free agent signing for the company and the beginning of a new chapter for the high-flying superstar.

During a recent appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show, Ricochet was asked if he felt that WWE was serious about trying to keep him with the company before he became a free agent.

“For me, they didn’t try. They made an offer, we just couldn’t agree, okay, I’m out. They didn’t, for me at least, they didn’t really let me know they wanted me to stay. Who knows if that would have changed my mind anyway. This is just my experience. They may feel different. I didn’t feel they really sat me down and were like, ‘We want you to stay.’ Everyone has different experiences. That’s just how I felt.”

Since joining AEW, Ricochet has been a prominent part of the show, recently turning heel and aligning himself with MJF and The Gates of Agony.
