AEW star Brian Cage is continuing to keep fans guessing about the specific date of his return to television. “The Machine” has been out of action since April and has undergone surgery on both of his knees, leading to a long and difficult rehabilitation process. While fans are eager to see the powerhouse performer back in the ring, Cage has consistently stated that he does not want to provide a definitive timeline for his comeback, preferring to make it a “complete surprise.” His comments highlight the unpredictable nature of injury recovery in professional wrestling and the creative flexibility that is often needed when dealing with a top star’s return.
Speaking on the “All F’N Wrestling Show,” Cage reiterated his stance on his return window and addressed the creative possibilities that await him in AEW.
“I have no idea about any sort of creative plans for our return at all at this point. So, I mean, I guess anything could be possible… There’s a whole wide open of versatility of what could happen, because there’s nothing set in stone at all for when I’m coming back or what I’m going to do when I come back. I’m not telling anybody that I don’t want anybody to have an inkling. I want everybody to have no idea of, ‘Oh, maybe around this time,’ because it might be next week, next year, or I don’t know. Who knows?”
Cage’s last match was in March 2025. His absence has left a significant void in the AEW roster, particularly for The Embassy faction, where he served as one of its most dominant members.
