The “CEO” and “12 Belts” Mercedes Moné is not resting on her laurels after making professional wrestling history. Just days after capturing her 12th concurrent championship, the reigning AEW TBS Champion has issued a new open challenge, this time for her BestYa Women’s Championship. In a video shared by the Italian promotion, Moné announced that she is ready to defend the title at their upcoming event in Palatorrino, Rome, on Saturday, November 9. This continues her dominant global tour, where she has been collecting championships from promotions all over the world, solidifying her status as the most decorated active wrestler in the sport.
In the video, Moné, in her signature “CEO” persona, made it clear that she is prepared to take on any challenger who has the courage to step up. The BestYa promotion’s social media post accompanying the video hyped the announcement:
“The champion has spoken!! @mercedesmone, @aew, is ready to defend her BestYa Women’s Championship in Italy and seems prepared to take on anyone bold enough to challenge her. Some wrestlers have already stepped up to claim their spot, but the CEO has no doubts: no one is on her level. Is that really the case?”
This challenge continues an incredibly active period for Moné, who just last weekend competed in three different countries over three days. On Friday, she successfully defended her CMLL Women’s World Title in Mexico City. On Saturday, she won the ROH Women’s World TV Title at the AEW WrestleDream pay-per-view. She then capped off the weekend on Sunday in Winnipeg, Canada, by defeating Jody Threat to win the Winnipeg Professional Wrestling Women’s Championship, her 12th title.
