A new report from Fightful Select’s weekly Q&A has provided a perplexing update on the status of former AEW Women’s World Champion, Nyla Rose. “The Native Beast” has been conspicuously absent from all AEW television in 2025, and according to the report, her absence is not due to an injury. Instead, she is reportedly not being brought up in creative discussions, and there is no clear reason why she is not being used on programming. This places her in a category of tenured AEW wrestlers who have, for unknown reasons, been off television for extended periods.
Rose has remained active outside of AEW, working select independent dates and appearing on the Jericho Cruise. She also recently competed at the MPX “Who Runs the World? 2” event in Texas, where she defeated Charity King.
AEW President Tony Khan was asked about Nyla’s status following the All Out pay-per-view last month. He compared her to the recently returned inaugural champion Riho and stated that the door is open for her return.
“Absolutely. Nyla Rose, another great champion. We saw Rhio return just this past month to AEW… so we saw the return of one former AEW Women’s World Champion to AEW very recently and I think, as I said before, tonight we saw so many great returns and we’ve set the stage for some big returns so the door is open to a lot of the great stars in the ring and with us very soon.”
Rose has been with AEW since 2019 and was the second-ever AEW Women’s World Champion, holding the title from February to May 2020.
