Triple H Reveals The Only Person He Ever Injured With His Sledgehammer

During a recent interview with Complex at WWE Headquarters, Paul “Triple H” Levesque revealed a surprising fact about his iconic weapon of choice: he has only ever injured one person with his sledgehammer, and it happened with a prop.

Levesque shared that at WrestleMania 27, during his No Holds Barred match against The Undertaker, he used a gimmick sledgehammer with a foam head for safety. However, the plan went wrong.

“This handle went all the way through the foam part and cut him from like here to here. I hit him, I had no idea, he went down. When I came up, he was bleeding. I was like, ‘Holy — what happened?’ You know, he was just covered.”

Despite the injury, The Undertaker finished the match and won, though he required stitches afterward. Levesque also noted that the sledgehammer became synonymous with him after he used one to smash a coffin The Rock was in, and over the years, he simply used “whatever hammer was available.”
