“The Scapegoat” Jack Perry is battered, bruised, but officially on the board in the Continental Classic.
Concerns were raised last week after Perry appeared to injure his ankle while performing a suicide dive during his match against Kazuchika Okada on Dynamite. While reports at the time indicated he was “fine,” Perry confirmed the lingering effects of the injury following his victory over “Speedball” Mike Bailey on AEW Collision: Holiday Bash.
Speaking in a post-match digital exclusive, Perry offered a candid assessment of his physical condition.
“My ankle feels like sh*t, my mouth tastes like Speedball’s toes,” Perry said. “But all in all, I’m pretty damn happy because I am finally on the board in the Continental Classic.”
Perry’s win over Bailey earned him his first three points of the Gold League, keeping his slim tournament hopes alive. Despite the pain, his confidence remains unshaken as he looks ahead to daunting matchups against PAC and Kyle Fletcher.
“That was three points right there, I got two more matches: PAC and Kyle Fletcher, and these guys are animals, but one way or another, I think I might just find a way to take this whole thing home.”
