A massive first-time-ever singles match has been set for next week’s AEW Dynamite in Orlando.
Kenny Omega will go one-on-one with Josh Alexander as he looks to climb back into the World Title picture. The match was set up during this week’s show following a verbal confrontation involving Omega, Hangman Page, Swerve Strickland, and the Don Callis Family.
Omega has not wrestled since the Holiday Bash episode of Dynamite on December 17, where he competed in a trios match. This will mark his first singles contest since losing to Kazuchika Okada at All In last July. For Alexander, the match offers a chance to rebound after a loss to Jon Moxley in a Continental Title eliminator match on New Year’s Smash.
The clash between the two Canadian standouts is the only match currently announced for the show, but it carries significant weight as Omega, Page, and Strickland all jockey for position in the AEW World Championship hunt.
